In 1996 Sun Valley began a farm in Del Norte County on the beautiful Smith River. The Del Norte farm also lies near the Pacific Coast, 75 miles north of the Arcata Division. The Smith River valley, with cool breezes and misty mornings and evenings, offers a spring-like climate most of the year, favoring fields of iris. We raised a few hoop houses so we can produce high quality iris even in winter.
